TOWN graduates lag behind their peers across the country when it comes to graduate starting salaries.
Accomplished Midlands students receive an average of £16,817 in their first pay cheques, while the average in Scotland in nearly £20,000.
The Higher Education Careers Service Unit carried out a survey on graduate market trends and said the average national graduate wage is £17,786.
