AN explosive bowling performance saw Barnt Green CC Seconds romp to their sixth win in nine games in the Birmingham and District League Division One.

Young leg-spinner Mark Bagley was the star man, taking 2-22 from 11 overs and then scoring 55 not out.

Skipper Darren Cullen had no hesitation in asking Kenilworth to bat on a dry and even wicket.

The visitors made a breezy start moving to 30-0 after six overs but when Bradbury was dismissed by Zafron Ahmed for 21 the scoring rate slowed dramatically.

The extra pace of Mike Hind and the swing of Ahmed were too much for the Kenilworth middle order.

They soon collapsed to 42-5, with the prized wicket of Paul Smith going to Ahmed for nought.

There was no let up in the pressure with the introduction of Bagley whose wizardry was a joy to behold.

Kenilworth were 117 all out in just 38 overs.

Hind claimed 4-44 from 16 overs and Ahmed returned 3-35.

Green made light work of their target, cruising to an eight-wicket victory with 25 overs to spare.

In-form James Clarke notched his third successive fifty. Barnt Green are now back in the promotion places after slipping to third last week.
