IN Korea - The July issue of the Toc H Journal contains some interesting news of a member of the Redditch branch of the Toc H, Sgt Arthur Hobbs, who is now serving in the Army in Korea.
Before joining the forces, Sgt Hobbs was attached to the staff of Redditch Post Office and since that time has seen service in several Far Eastern countries.
His war and peacetime record is a succession of comings and goings - first he was posted to Malaya in 1946, then to India, back to Malaya, home to England, back to Malaya, on to Hong Kong, England once more, demobilisation, recalled to the colours in 1950, drafted to Korea and en route called at Singapore.
At the Toc H Headquarters in Singapore, Sgt Hobbs met - quite by accident - his Troop Officer of 1946, whom he had tried in vain to trace for four years.
Sgt Hobbs was awarded the Military Medal during the war.
