A TWO-YEAR-OLD child was involved in a gang attack on a Droitwich Spa disabled woman and her son.

The pair were targeted as they walked to their Meadow Walk home, at around 1.45pm.

Both the 53-year-old and her 34-year-old son were taken to Worcester's Ronkswood Hospital for treatment.

The woman, who has osteoporosis and arthritis, claimed she was knocked unconscious in the attack and had been beaten with a foot-long bar.

She said the violence erupted when she challenged young thugs about throwing bricks at her window.

The gang ranged in age from two to 15 years, including one adult, she added.

Her son needed treatment for damage to his eye and she was treated for head injuries.

They both discharged themselves from hospital, but will require further treatment.

The woman's daughter said: "They were both covered in blood."

She claimed neighbours had seen the attack last Friday but were too frightened to do anything.

Worcester police said one man had been bailed pending further enquiries.
