WATER giant Severn Trent Plc has been commended for its positive approach to corporate social responsibility.
The company, which is responsible for the region's water supply, has been recognised in the Business in the Community 2001 Awards for Excellence.
Business in the Community is a group of companies in Britain committed to improving their positive impact on society.
Severn Trent Plc was awarded an Impact Endorsement Award for its commitment to addressing regeneration, education, diversity and environmental issues in the community.
"Of the companies commended, Severn Trent Plc was short listed for its unswerving dedication to promoting environmental awareness," said a spokesman for Business in the Community.
Business in the Community has a core membership of 650 companies, including 75 per cent of the FTSE 100, with membership in the West Midlands at 40 companies.
