LITTLETON 0, MALVERN TOWN 2

MALVERN Town visited Worcester League champions and Midland Combination Division Two newcomers Littleton in a friendly on a Saturday and returned comfortable 2-0 winners.

In a competitive game Town generally controlled things once Sean Davies put them in front in the 25th minute.

Shortly after the break Matt Upton bagged his third goal in two games when he fired home from close range.

Littleton, fielding ex Town keeper Adam Moss and midfielder Perry Beddoes, did not put Town under any sustained pressure, but goalkeeper Dave Alden had to be alert one a couple of occasions.

Malvern Town: Alden, Higgins (Dugdale), Clayton, Damore, Davies, Westmancott, Ward, Walker, Thomas (Cannon), Shepherd, Upton.

Malvern Town reserves recorded a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Inkberrow at the Langland Stadium on Saturday.

After an uneventful first half the second half started in promising terms when Neil Mogford fired the Town ahead from 20 yards out in the opening minute.

The pace of youngsters Steve Hancocks and 16-year-old Lee Hooper caused numerous problems and this was rewarded on 65mins when Hancocks unselfishly played Hooper in for him to side foot home from close range to put the Town 2 - 0 up before Hooper pulled the ball back from the goal line for Hancocks to fire home from the edge of the area to make it 3-0.

Malvern: B McLean, J Ward, A Thomas, Oakley, Simpson, A McLean (Gibbs), Mogford, White, Avery (Craven), Hancocks, Leonard (Hooper).

IN a hastily arranged friendly, Malvern Town will visit Bristol-based Henbury Old Boys of the Gloucester County League Premier Division tomorrow (Saturday) 3pm.

Town assistant manager Richard Anson said: "Following the cancellation of the Colwyn Bay game we ideally would have wanted a friendly against a higher-graded side, but most teams are already fixed up so we are very grateful that Henbury are able to accommodate us and we are looking forward to the game."

The Reserves are also close to arranging a game for this weekend and an announcement will be made today (Friday).
