BROMSGROVE Rovers boss Steve Daniels is demanding big defensive improvements from his team at home to Stratford Town in the Midland Alliance tonight (7.45pm) after conceding three goals against Oldbury United on Saturday.

The Director of Football described it as "criminal" that Rovers scored three away goals yet only took a point from The Cricketts.

"It was awful defending," he said.

"We've got to work on our defensive play. Unfortunately the players are not on full-time contracts otherwise I would have had them in on Sunday morning."

New signings Paul and Michael Moore both got on the score sheet but it needed a late strike from Frazer McHugh to rescue a point for Rovers.

"Going forward we're fine and both Moores got a goal which they will be pleased with but defensively including our front three players we didn't do it," added Daniels.

"Scoring three goals away from home and not winning is criminal. We've got to improve."

One aspect of Saturday's game that did please Daniels was the travelling support.

"There were a couple of hundred there and three-quarters of them were from Bromsgrove and it felt like a home game," he said.

Meanwhile, Malvern Town complete their pre-season programme tonight when

Hellenic League side Ross Town visit the Langland Stadium (7.30).
