Redditch United 0 Kidderminster Harriers 3 (friendly)

IT took Third Division Kidderminster Harriers just 11 minutes to get off the mark in a comfortable friendly win over sluggish Redditch United.

Trialist Darren Middleton outpaced Reds' one-paced new signing Neil Cartwright in defence and crossed low for Stuart Hadley to react first and leave Reds keeper Harvey Willetts no chance.

Willetts had been at his best as early as the fifth minute when he stopped new boy Danny Anstice from finding his own net after a dangerous Middleton run.

Craig Hinton flashed one wide before Paul Danks set former RC Warwick hotshot Paul Eden free in the box only to be stopped by Harriers keeper Stuart Brock.

Middleton was again the provider and Cartwright again the weak link as the Kidderminster man crossed from the left and Hinton converted in the 26th minute.

Irish winger Daire Doyle crossed from the left three minutes later for Middleton to claim a third.

Another Kiddy trialist Ian Joy hammered a free kick on to the post from 30 yards with Willetts a spectator as it became one-way traffic.

A welter of substitutions at half time further confused matters and Hadley, Hinton and Middleton came close to extending Harriers' lead.

Redditch belatedly had a flurry in the last quarter missing three half chances but with the team sheet inaccurate and the chairman and management unable to name their trialists it was impossible to see who was having an impact.
