MIDFIELDERS Sam Shilton and Mark Blake will make their debuts for Kidderminster Harriers in Saturday's match (August 11) when they launch their Nationwide League Division Three campaign against Scunthorpe United at Aggborough (3pm).

Both players have impressed during pre-season and go straight into Harriers' starting line-up.

Shilton, son of former England goalkeeping legend Peter, joined Kidderminster recently from Hartlepool, while Blake has moved to Aggborough from Mansfield.

Kidderminster, however, will be without new midfielder Danny Williams and striker Drewe Broughton.

Williams misses the first four games after being sent off for violent conduct while playing for Wrexham against Bristol Rovers last season.

Broughton will serve a one-match ban on Saturday for being given his marching orders against Hartlepool last term.

Harriers boss Jan Molby, meanwhile, is expecting a tough first day test for his players.

He said: "It's a difficult one to kick off with. They nearly made the play-offs last season. They are a strong squad and have made a couple of good signings in Peter Beagrie and Carl Bradshaw.

"Both are experienced players who will do a good job for them, so it's going to be a tricky game for u8s. I feel they are going to be one of the better teams in the Third Division this season."

Molby, who hopes for a bumper crowd after a number of disappointing attendances last term, added: "I don't know how many are going to be here to watch us, but whoever decides to turn up we'll try our best to give them a good start.

"Our main aim is to improve on last season. Hopefully, we can do that.

"We were near the play-offs for four or five months last season and if we can hang on a little big longer this time the crowd might just stay with us. We started the season with a win against Torquay and it was ideal for us. I think we need a similar start. A few wins early on and not too many defeats.

"If we can get a bit of consistency and a bit of momentum building then I think we have got a season to look forward to.

"We aren't going to make any predictions about the season. We probably aren't going to win the Third Division because there are teams bigger and stronger than what we are.

"But we think we have got a lot of good players and even if we are hit by injuries and suspensions we have got more cover."
