COOKLEY 1ST XI v BARNARDS GREEN 1ST XI

Losing the toss the Green were asked to take first knock on an easy paced wicket. They lost Kevin Golder (1) in Goodman's first over when he was caught at mid-off. A stand of 60 by Richard Williams (36) and Phil Divito (33) put the Green in a strong position, when Williams was dismissed by Goodman trying to pull a short delivery and Divito was caught at mid off.

It was left to Tim Clarke (34) who punished anything that was short of a length, when he went at 116-4 the Green were still looking at 200 but they collapsed losing five wickets for 29 runs. At close they were 146 all out. Goodman (4-66) off 22 overs and Selleck (5-37) off 14 overs did the damage for Cookley.

Cookley lost Dixon caught behind by Glendinning off the bowling of Andy Lamb. Chris Hill then had Harris caught by Richard Williams with the score of 46.

But some positive knocks from Blakely (37) Perkins (52no) and Shewry (28no) saw them home by seven wickets. At close Cookley were 147-3 off 30 overs.

The Green will need to win at least two of their remaining four games if they are to avoid relegation to Division Three.
