WORCESTER City have an early opportunity to put some silverware in the cabinet when they travel to Margate (3pm) for the Dr Martens Championship match tomorrow.

League cup winners City take on the title holders, and for Worcester it is a chance to avenge their two defeats at the hands of the champions.

Goalkeeper Danny McDonnell hopes to put behind him last season's visit to Margate where he gave away two penalties in a 3-0 defeat.

"It was just one of those days but hopefully I can make amends tomorrow," he said.

"We have to remember tomorrow's match is still pre-season but it is a bit more competitive than normal friendlies and it would be nice to win something like that to give us a bit more confidence going into the season."

Manager John Barton expects former Hereford front man Phil Stant to travel and is awaiting news on Darren Middleton but said Kevin Francis is set to be made an offer by Hednesford.

"We are not in a position to make any offer to him because he has only played 45 minutes with us," he said.
