PEACE campaigners held a vigil in Malvern Priory churchyard last Saturday in memory of the atomic bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Members of Malvern Churches Justice and Peace Group alternated readings, prayers and silence as they remembered the victims in the two Japanese cities, which were attacked on August 6 and 9, 1945.
The 23 members of the group were joined by three women from Thailand, who were visiting Malvern and decided to support the vigil.
Mary Wetherall of the group said: "It's important that people don't forget about the nuclear bombing of these cities. It's a long time ago now but we must remember."
