'Save our pub' campaigners are hoping to enlist the support of the Prince of Wales.
Locals battling to ensure that the Horseshoe Inn at Broom's Green is not turned into a house, have written to Prince Charles.
Spokeswoman Penny Ely said: "We want to adopt his slogan 'Make Pubs the Hub' but we're still waiting for a reply."
The Horseshoe was shut by its former owners, Ken and Jackie Thomson, on May 31. It has been bought by Chris Tweedale, headteacher of Ledbury's John Masefield High School.
Campaigners say they have contacted Mr Tweedale but are still unaware of his plans for the pub. There is currently no change of use planning permission for the building and locals have vowed to fight any attempt to turn it into a house.
A public meeting in June attracted about 60 people to Broom's Green Memorial Hall and another is planned for Tuesday (August 14) at 8pm.
Mark Haslam, CAMRA'S area organiser for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, is expected to attend the meeting as an adviser.
Ms Ely said: "We are advising concerned people to write to the enforcement department of the Forest of Dean District Council, so we have a route by which we can express our opinions."
