A PACKED congregation at Lansdowne Crescent Methodist Church, in Malvern, said farewell last Sunday to the Rev Terence Isherwood.

Rev Isherwood left Malvern this week with his wife Jean after seven years as the minister with responsibility for the Lansdowne Crescent and Somers Park Avenue churches.

He was also circuit superintendent minister, sharing responsibility for the churches and chapels in Bromyard, Colwall, Ledbury and Upper Welland with Rev Gordon Davis.

Rev Isherwood was chairman of Churches Together in Malvern from 1998 to 2000 and vice-chairman of the Birmingham Methodist District.

Mrs Isherwood worked as a nurse at Malvern Community Hospital during their time in Malvern.

The couple came to Malvern from the Isle of Man and are moving to Pontypridd, South Wales, where Rev Isherwood will take up his new appointment in September.

Sunday's service, which was led by Rev Davis, was followed by the presentation of gifts, and the cutting of a cake.

Rev Isherwood's successor will be Rev Catherine Campbell-Hyde, who will be welcomed to Malvern at a service in the Somers Park Avenue church on Thursday, August 30.
