THERE'S still time to enrol in the summer activities being organised by Malvern Hills District Council at The Chase High School.

The general playscheme, which has been running for two weeks, has already proved a hit with local youngsters.

Ian Mumford, head of sports and recreation at the council, said: "We've had about 20 children each day and they have had a wide range of activities to take part in."

The fun continues next week, when there are specialist cricket and hockey coaching camps at the school, followed by two further weeks of general playschemes.

A similar playscheme at Hanley Castle High School was less successful. "It has been difficult but we will keep going with playschemes there," added Mr Mumford.

Meanwhile, playscheme at Castlemorton Village Hall, intended to be held over a fortnight from Monday (August 13), has had to be cancelled because of a shortage of advanced bookings.
