LOCAL artists will be lining up along the riverside to display their work and talk to visitors on two Sundays this month.

Local professional painters such as wildlife specialist Valerie Briggs will be among the 25 artists appearing on Sunday, August 12, and the 30 artists on August 19.

Original artwork, cards and prints will be on site between 11am and 4pm at Butts Parade, by the river between the racecourse and the Cathedral.

"It provides the general public with the chance to browse through original artwork at their leisure in the beautiful riverside setting," said Lower Broadheath artist Helen Harnett, who spent Wednesday on the riverbank showcasing the event.

"It's a lovely atmosphere - we're just praying for some fine weather.

"All the stalls are covered, but the rain does put the visitors off."

The events, which are held annually, are the result of a collaboration between Worcester Tourism Association and Bevere Vivis gallery.
