A CHILDREN'S library will be going animal crackers when weird and wonderful creatures come to Worcester.
Animal expert Roger Pearson will be bringing feathered, furry and scaly friends to meet youngsters on Thursday, August 16.
Children between the ages of seven and 11 may find themselves face-to-face with a boa constrictor, European eagle owl, giant American frog or even a tarantula when Mr Pearson gives his talk.
"He will be giving an illustrated lecture on amphibians, birds, reptiles and mammals," said Helen Gilbert, the children's librarian at Worcester Library.
Mr Pearson's company The Natural History Lecture Service was formed in 1968.
He has visited children's libraries all over the Midlands and has lectured at book weeks and play schemes.
"Our snowy owl Ook has just finished making the new Harry Potter film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," he said.
Tickets cost £1.50 each and should be booked in advance from the information desk, Worcester City Library, Foregate Street, Worcester.
