BT Community Connections has awarded the bureau a PC and one year's access to the internet.

"We are delighted with our BT Connections award, the additional PC will significantly support the development of our online services and additional resources for people living and working in the city," said manager Michael Gardner. "It is also is an opportunity for our volunteers to acquire additional skills."

The Worcester bureau plans to launch its new internet service early next month.

Derek Inman, BT Community Connections project manager, West Midlands, added: "This year-long service aims to give as many people as possible access to the internet and allows groups to develop their projects using easier and more effective methods.

"As the UK's leading communications company, BT is pleased to be able to help connect communities throughout the UK and to improve the quality of so many people's lives.'
