BIDFORD are hot favourites for the Cotswold Hills League title after their derby clash at lowly Exhall and Wixford was abandoned.
The village clash fell victim to wet weather after 30 overs with reigning champions Exhall on 96 for one.
Foot and mouth restrictions mean the league will be decided on average points this season and no points are awarded for an abandonment.
Bidford have a healthy advantage at the top because their average was unaffected while second placed Shipston lost a rain-hit match to Wellesbourne at the weekend. The non result was also welcomed by Exhall captain Scott Carmichael.
Exhall visit Wellesbourne on Saturday (2pm start) without bowlers John and Martin Park but welcome back Steve Keen.
Bidford continue their championship charge at Elmley (2pm start).
