STUART Lampitt returns to Worcestershire's side for tomorrow's Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy fourth round tie against giant-killing Herefordshire at New Road (10.45am).

The long-serving paceman was rested for the County's Championship victory over Derbyshire.

Batsman Nick Boulton looks set to make way for Lampitt who was 12th man at Derby.

"We just rested Stuart to freshen him up," said Worcestershire's Director of Cricket Tom Moody.

The County crushed Hertford-shire by 267 runs in the last round and Moody is looking for a similar display against Herefordshire, who booked their trip to New Road with a shock three-wicket win over Middlesex at Kingsland.

Respect

He said: "Herefordshire have a good side and we respect that. In our match against Hertfordshire we certainly weren't complacent in any way and I think the result reflected that.

"You can't afford to take any game lightly whether they are a lesser team or not because they can come up and bite you. We had that experience against Scotland in the past and we don't want it again.

"Herefordshire have got some decent players and we certainly can't afford to take it lightly. Those players stood up to be counted against Middlesex."

New Road skipper Graeme Hick said: "These games are potential banana skins but we did a good job against Hertfordshire and we have to look to do the same thing.

"Everybody wants to bring success back to the County and we have produced some good performances in one-day cricket this season."

Vice-captain Steve Rhodes said: "There are some dangerous players in the Herefordshire side. They are a reasonable Minor Counties side so we have really got to do a destruction job.

"It's a great local derby and it's fantastic for the crowds to see Herefordshire come here and play us in a proper competition.

"With the players they have who were at New Road under contract it adds a little bit more to the game. It will be really good. I'm looking forward to it."

Worcs: Weston, Singh, Hick, Solanki, Leatherdale, Bichel, Rhodes, Lampitt, Kabir Ali, Rawnsley, Sheriyar. 12th man: Boulton.

Worcestershire's Second XI Trophy match against Somerset at Keynsham yesterday was abandoned without a ball bowled because of persistent drizzle.
