TWO cheers for New Labour's Mike Foster MP "Drug dealers should lose the roof over their heads" (Evening News, July 3). Why indeed should someone be allowed to deal drugs in a council house, with law-abiding people on waiting lists?
However, the Human Rights Act (embraced by New Labour, Tory and Lib Dem) says EU citizens must not be "victims of ill-treatment by a public authority".
Throw anyone out of a council house and the legal eagles will gather. The city council (and local council taxpayers) could soon find themselves in debt with compensation and legal claims. What would pass for justice in Worcestershire might be overturned by foreign judges.
