NICK Baxter aims to fire himself back into the Sixways first-team picture tomorrow night when he lines up for Worcester Warriors at Neath.

Worcester's prodigal son, who is now in his seventh season at the club, is desperate to get back into coach Adrian Skeggs' thinking for a recall after dropping down the pecking order.

The 27-year-old has fallen behind Sateki Tuipulotu, Spencer Bromley and Ally McLean in the battle for a winger's spot but gets his chance to shine against Neath's second team at The Gnoll, kick-off 7.15pm.

The director of coaching is likely to make changes to the side which beat Exeter Chiefs 25-6 on Saturday for the weekend clash at Otley in National One and Baxter could figure after an impressive display tomorrow.

Mathew Back, Cameron Mather, Chris Simpson-Daniel and Nathan Carter could also force their way back into first-team contention.

Ollie Lamb and Wyn Lloyd also get their chances after progressing through the youth set-up. Winger Lamb has come through the academy with some fine displays and wins his place because of an ankle knock to McLean. Lloyd travelled to the World Student Games with Welsh students last year and has been a regular for Wales under-21s.

The Neath game replaces War-riors' home clash with Sale Jets which was due to be played at Sixways tonight until the Lancashire outfit cancelled the fixture yesterday.

Warriors: Back, Baxter, Barrow, Langkilde, Lamb, Yapp, Simpson-Daniel, Collins, Moretti, Benbouhout, Webster, Lloyd, Scriven, Carter, Mather.

Meanwhile, in the wake of English Second Division Rugby's (ESDR) decision to begin legal action in the row over relegation and promotion to the Premier-ship, the body have decided to back a new concept to promote English players.

ESDR, after a meeting yesterday, backed a new system which would impose a minimum limit for English qualified players for a match-day squad. If successful, the system could alter Worces-ter's recent policy of bringing in foreign stars.

The Sixways side included just eight Englishmen in their 22-man squad for the weekend game against Exeter.
