FORMER England manager Geoff Cooke believes Scott Barrow can make it to the very top after his blockbusting debut for Worcester Rugby Club.

Sixways' chief executive was delighted with the 20-year-old's display in the 56-18 victory over Henley Hawks but said this was just the tip of the iceberg for the former St Helens man.

Barrow, who retains his place in the side to face Exeter on Saturday in the National One clash, made his first competitive Union start at the weekend since his November switch from League and took Sixways by storm with a top-class performance.

And Cooke, who knows a future England star when he sees one, is certain Barrow can make it to Twickenham before long.

He said: "He has everything and is such a prospect at 20. I am surprised the England under-21s have not had a look at him yet but I'm sure it won't be long.

"Scott can be whatever he wants in Union. There is no doubt he can go all the way and play for England. The exciting thing is that he has already developed his game in a very short space of time. The thought of him and Andy Higgins as a centre pairing is obviously very exciting for England because we are cultivating the future."

With proposals already on the table from the Rugby Football Union to limit the number of foreign players in an English club side, Barrow's development is even more important to Worcester's future.

"We have a short-term aim of getting into the Premiership. However, we have long-term ob-jectives and those are obviously to encourage young, English talent.

"We are also encouraging young talent like Rudi Keil though which has to be good for the game as a whole."

Keil returns to the starting line-up for the clash at Exeter to take up a centre pairing with Barrow, while skipper Alistair Murdoch switches to the wing in place of the injured Nick Baxter.

After an impressive Warriors' performance, Spencer Bromley comes back on to the bench while Neil Lyman, who made his comeback from a calf injury on Tuesday, also takes his place in the 22.
