ADRIAN Skeggs is banking on Worcester's fan power to inspire his side to a Wakefield win this afternoon.

The Australian coach has been taken by surprise by the vocal support his team gets on their travels and is looking for more of the same in to-day's National One clash at College Grove.

Skeggs, who was used to the fanatical Bedford fans from his days at Goldington Road, bel-ieves the extra noise can be the extra ingredient in Worcester's title challenge.

He said: "They have been fantastic this season and made a big difference away from home.

"Even when we have gone hundreds of miles away, they have been then to shout for the club."

However, the noise has been less than earth shattering back at Sixways and it is something which Skeggs would like to see change.

"It seems we are expected every week to thrash teams at home and the expectancy levels are incredible.

"Supporters are in a comfort zone when they are at Sixways. They come here and expect our side to just roll over the opposition.

"Away from home, they are on foreign territory and there is a feeling, a bond, which means you have to stick together."

Skeggs welcomes back Nick Baxter for today's clash, a return which he hopes will improve the link between the players and the crowd.

"What we need is the crowd. He is a local hero and the fans res-pond to him.

Nick will be delighted to be back but there will also be euph-oria from the supporters with his return."
