NICK Baxter's up and down season has hit another low after being axed from the Worcester Rugby Club side to face Coventry at Sixways on Saturday (3pm).

The flying winger has endured a frustrating season with Worcester so far, scoring just five tries, and is not only dropped but also finds himself out of the 22-man squad.

The 27-year-old was originally omitted from the side selected to face Henley last Sunday, but won an 11th hour reprieve after South African centre Rudi Keil suffered a knee injury.

However, with the Springbok fit again, Keil comes back into the side to partner Scott Barrow at centre.

Skipper Alistair Murdoch takes Baxter's place on the wing as coach Adrian Skeggs makes four changes to the side which won 16-13 at Dry Leas.

Nathan Carter replaces Cameron Mather at flanker, while Chris Simpson-Daniel comes back into the side at scrum-half because Richard Jarman picked up a shoulder injury on Sunday.

Spencer Bromley is promoted to the bench in favour of Baxter after an impressive performance in the Warriors' 21-14 win over Bristol United on Tuesday night.

Skeggs said: "Nick has done well in recent weeks but his positional play has been found wanting in matches. Rudi is fit again and comes back in and we feel that Alistair, on the wing, will give us something extra.

"Spencer Bromley had a good game against Bristol and deserves his chance on the bench."
