WORCESTER Rugby Club's ladies have the biggest day in their history tomorrow with a cup semi-final against Richmond (2.30pm).

And they face a huge task at Sixways as Richmond are the current favourites after beating holders Saracens 9-6.

They also beat Worcester 35-7 in the league back in autumn and have lost just twice this season, but crucially one of those came last week when they suffered a 5-0 league defeat at the hands of another semi-finalist Clifton.

"It gives us a real boost because we beat Clifton in our first encounter with them this year," said Worcester scrum-half and captain Joanne Yapp. "It shows our players that Richmond are beatable so it's a real bonus."

Worcester will also be keen to avenge a 64-0 defeat in their first ever game in division one last season in what is arguably their biggest ever game.

"We've been involved in games for promotion but this is at a higher level so I'm sure they'll be a few nerves," added Yapp.

The winners of tomorrow's game at Sixways will play either Clifton or Wasps in the final on Sunday, March 25, which will be played as a curtain raiser to a Premiership One match at either Bath, Harlequins or Leicester.

Meanwhile the second team also have their biggest ever cup game when they play Oakham in the WRFU Junior Cup Northern Final.
