ADRIAN Skeggs toasted Worcester Rugby Club's 27-16 win over Coventry with a special offer for the fans as a reward for their loyalty this season.

The Sixways coach, while celebrating the victory which sealed a precious bonus point for the National One leaders, revealed his side have paid for two kegs of beer for supporters to drink on Saturday as a way of an apology for their dismal showing at Henley last Sunday.

Worcester fans will now be able to visit Sixways on Saturday to watch Six Nations action and can enjoy two kegs of beer for free!

Skeggs said: "The squad is paying for the beer because of what happened at Henley. We let our supporters down there and let ourselves down there. The players are happy to do it because they felt sorry for the supporters last Sunday."

Skeggs was far happier with his side's display on Saturday though and was delighted with the fourth try and the bonus point.

Alistair Murdoch touched down with just six minutes left on the clock amid scenes of wild celebration from the Gold'n'Blues faithful.

The victory kept Worcester's title charge on course and they stay eight points ahead of second-placed Leeds. However, Coventry tested them all the way and actually led mid-way through the first-half 10-7. However tries from Rudi Keil, Tony Windo and two from Murdoch sealed a memorable victory for Worcester.

Skeggs paid tribute to the team's character which once again shone through when the going got tough. "Every time we go down -- we come back -- we always do it. The performance last week wasn't us and I knew it wasn't us.

"The guys were playing on emotion just as much as they were ability. For me it was a good test of character and we came through it. I thought we played some good stuff despite the referee who made the game very difficult."

Skeggs poured praise on Tony Yapp who came in at fly-half for his first league start of the season because of a last-minute injury to Earl Va'a.

"I thought he was absolutely outstanding - he did a really good job for us today not only in an attacking sense but also defensively. He will keep his place on that performance."
