ADRIAN Skeggs believ-es Andrea Moretti has come back from the nightmare of Moseley.

Worcester Rugby Club's director of coaching has seen the Italian over the past couple of months put that dismal substitute display at Bournbrook out of his mind to re-turn to form.

The hooker threw numerous crooked line-out throws that December day as Worcester slumped to their only National One league defeat of the season.

However, after specialist coaching to correct the problem over the past few months, he started his first game since October last Saturday against Manchester and put in a solid display.

And Skeggs has now no doubt, if called upon for the April 1 crunch clash at Leeds, he will not let him down.

He said: "I think Andrea was outstanding around the paddock against Manchester and he certainly gives us something extra in his position.

"He has improved in his line-out throwing and he has done well to get the nightmare of Moseley out of his mind.

"He had five bad throws in that game - if you weren't rugby blind you probably say it cost us the game.

"I've got a good balance with the hookers because Andrew Lamerton is probably the best thrower of the two but maybe Andrea gives us that bit extra out wide.

"I think Lamerton is first choice at the moment but Andrea has certainly done well to come back from Moseley and turn something negative into a positive."

He added: "His throwing affects the way he plays so it has been important for him mentally to improve that part of his game. Hopefully now, he has done that."

Lamerton missed the 27-8 win over Manchester with a knee injury but came through training this week unscathed and looks set to get the nod at number two for next week's trip to Headingley.

Moretti looks set for a place on the bench ahead of Chris Hall.
