CHRIS Hall has the potential to go all the way in the game, according to Worcester Rugby Club coach Adrian Skeggs.

The hooker, who has been Andrew Lamerton's deputy for most of the season, enjoyed another solid display against Moseley on Saturday and looks certain to win another contract for next season.

Hall, 21, takes his place in the Worcester side for their final game of the season today at Birmingham & Solihull on the back of a glowing reference from the former scrum king Skeggs.

He said: "There is a lot of potential with Chris. I need to spend much more time with him but I am confident he will be a player for us.

"He has done well when he has come in for us this season in pressurised situations. People should remember that, with the great expectations of the club there comes pressure for results and immediate performances.

"That in a way is not conducive to development of young talent but Chris has never let down."

Skeggs - a former Australian international prop - is well aware of just how tough being in the front row of a scrum can be and is the perfect person to pass on tips to Hall.

"Having been in the middle of a scrum during my playing career, I know exactly how tough life is when you are on the pitch.

"It is not an easy job and we certainly have to be very tough to do it. It is about survival but one thing you need in that situation is composure.

"When he starts a game, his anxiety comes in and he starts to rush things a little - that obviously affects everyone else with the set pieces.

"However, you expect those sort of problems from a young man, and it is something he will obviously improve on in time and with more experience."
