PHIL Maynard has poured cold water on rumours he is about to leave Worcester Rugby Club for Stourbridge.
The Sixways director of player management said he is about to hold talks on his future role at Worcester and not jump ship.
Maynard has been involved in four promotions during his seven seasons at the club and is a candidate for running Worcester's first team again after the sacking of Les Cusworth a month ago.
"Nothing has been decided and that's the truth of it," said the club's director of player management. "I'm in discussions with Worcester at the moment and we'll have to see what's decided. Talk of me moving to Stourbridge is just hear-say."
Chief executive Geoff Cooke, who has been in charge of the team since Cusworth's departure, said the club must finalise player and coaching contracts by the end of this month.
Cooke took temporary charge a month ago and has presided over two home wins and two away defeats.
The former England boss joined the club last summer as chief executive and has not yet committed himself to becoming the coach full-time.
"It's too early to say and I'm in further discussions with chairman Cecil Duckworth but he's away this week," said Cooke.
"All the present problems, with what's happening next year mean it's difficult to make decisions."
