IT is a game of reunions for many when we travel to Bedford on Saturday.

Alistair Murdoch makes his first return to the Goldington Road ground club who he served so well for three years until last summer.

Dan Zaltzman and Dave Sims are former players while Tony Yapp knows the pitch from back to front.

Not only that, I was there for six months last season so it will be nice to go back there but what we all have to make sure is that we do a professional job there. It is a massive game for us now but every one is massive for now until the rest of the season. It will be a tough game, of that there is no doubt.

They will be up for the game backed by a crowd that will be desperate for their team to put one over their former coach and players. They have got a fantastic crowd base and are a town club, run by good people.

Alistair bled for the club when he was there and shouldn't have been put in that position last season. He was made coach when he didn't really want to be but he did the best possible job in dreadful circumstances. He will be pleased to go back there but at the same time he will be determined not to go there and come out on the losing side. As Worcester captain, he will have the boys fired up for the match. I think the ex-players will get booed but the crowd, underneath those shallow emotions, have a lot of respect and admiration for Alistair.

It is fair to say that we need to go out there and not only win but score four tries to take the bonus point. Second placed Leeds cut our National One lead to three points with a 68-8 win over Coventry on Sunday and I was one of the interested spectators at Headingley looking on. They played well and the scoreline was fair but Coventry were a huge disappointment to the side who played at Sixways in our last match.

Leeds are a very consistent side at present and I fully expect them to win their new couple of games before we visit them on April 1.

They have done extremely well to be in the position they are in and it sets up the clash very nicely.

The players have been working hard this week but I think they are feeling quite refreshed after having a weekend without a game. The only injuries for the Bedford game concern Richard Jarman and Earl Va'a. Richard still has not fully recovered from his shoulder injury while Earl is still struggling with an Achilles problem. The plus side of that is that Yapp can play his second league game in succession and show the world of rugby just what he is capable of. He knows the surroundings at Bedford as well so that gives him an advantage.

What we have been working on this week is to make our attacking play more consistent. Yapp will probably give us that because his play is very structured - you know exactly what you are going to get from him. All I want to see on Saturday is the team just going out on to the pitch and doing the basics correctly. As long as we can put 80 minutes of structured, consistent play together then we will have no problems. There will be an extra edge to the game because of all the old players going back. However, it is a good test of a professional team to show their ability to block all the off-the-field goings on and concentrate purely on the game in front of them. That is what I expect to happen.

The game is vitally important to us for us to come back to Sixways with five points. We disappointed against them earlier in the season but I think they may be a slightly weaker side due to injuries. We have to carry on where we left off against Coventry and I hope our supporters can make their presence felt as well as the players on the pitch.
