WORCESTER Rugby Club's new boy Danny Zaltzman says he wants to get back to Premiership One as soon as possible.

The 24-year-old lock has had top-flight experience with his last club Bedford, as well as Leicester Tigers and Saracens.

He said: "The ambition to go up is the major thing. I want to be successful.

"That is what everybody at the club wants to do. We have a job to do this season -- everybody is aware of that -- and we will be trying hard to achieve that promotion aim.

"I just want to get back into playing really good rugby, which hopefully we will do, and hopefully take it on next year when we have been promoted."

Zaltzman, who won five caps for England under 21s, says that last season was a torrid experience at Bedford, when they hit major financial problems and ended up being relegated after a play-off with Rotherham.

"There were a lot of torrid times and things were a bit awkward, but there was a great team atmosphere and we got on with the job as best we could."

He will link up with four former Bedford team-mates at Sixways - Virgil Hartland, Alistair Murdoch, Ally McLean and Tony Yapp - and added: "I think it helps if you know a few of the players to relax you when you first arrive.

"But the other players have been very welcoming and very friendly. There seems to be a good spirit about the club already."

Zaltzman's arrival yesterday, along with Hong Kong international Ian Calder, who can play full-back or fly-half, takes Worcester's number of summer signings at Sixways to 15.
