WORCESTER Rugby Club have snapped up Argentinian international prop forward Alejandro Moreno.

The 27-year-old, who has won six caps for the Pumas, has been playing for French club Agen for the last four seasons. He also has an Italian passport and was a member of their World Cup squad.

His arrival, along with number eight David Fryday, signed from Australian first grade rugby, should complete their summer acquisitions.

"Alejandro is a sensational signing for us, and we are very excited about what he can add to the squad," said chief executive Geoff Cooke.

Meanwhile, the Premiership Two clubs, chaired by Worcester backer Cecil Duckworth, are to meet with top officials from the RFU at Sixways today. This follows the First Division clubs' decision to have just one play-off spot between the Division Two champions and the team finishing bottom of Division One.

But Duckworth says the fight for automatic promotion is not over yet. He said: "We felt their meeting last week was not constitutional and incorrectly called. If there is no agreement with us we will go to the courts to get the decision set aside."
