WORCESTER Rugby Club's Warriors team conceded two late tries to go down 27-16 to Sale Jets in a floodlit friendly at Heywood Road.
Worcester crept back from a 12-8 half time score to lead the game at 16-12 with just ten minutes remaining, but Sale fought back with two last minute tries.
"We took a while to get into the game, but there were some encouraging passages of play," said Worcester Director of Coaching Adrian Skeggs.
"For 30 minutes we played well and gained the results, but ill discipline at the end gave away two easy scores.
"We need to have the confidence to believe that we can beat these first division sides, which we have the talent to do, and then go out and do it," he said.
Worcester's only try came on 61 minutes when hooker Chris Hall was on the end of a 12-yard rolling maul from the pack. Fly-half Tony Yapp added three penalties and a conversion.
