NEW signing James Alvis is included in Worcester Rugby Club's squad to face National Cup champions Wasps in a pre-season warm-up match at Sixways on Saturday (3pm).
Prop forward Alvis, who previously played for Exeter Chiefs, has been on trial at Sixways for a few weeks and scored in the club's 43-14 win over a Redruth President's XV last weekend.
The 28-year-old has represented England Students and England Under 21 Students and also spent time playing rugby in Cape Town. He has also played for Pontypridd, Newport and Cardiff Institute.
Alvis becomes Director of Rugby Les Cusworth's 14th signing of the club season.
The 26-man squad also includes three players still currently on trial at Sixways - fly-half Steven Ward, full-back Simon Morgan and back row David Merlin.
Worcester had a squad of around 40 players to select from and among those to miss out are fly-half James Lofthouse and centre Richard Tomlinson.
