NEW signing Richard Jarman settled into the Sixways surroundings yesterday -- and set his sights on Chris Simpson-Daniel's shirt.

The Kiwi, who joined Worcester Rugby Club from New Zealand side Taranaki, is keen to cement a place in the Sixways team and could make his debut at Moseley next week.

However, he knows he faces a tough task getting into the side after the impressive form of scrum-half Simpson-Daniel.

He said: "You don't travel half-way across the world to sit on the bench but it looks like I might have my work cut out for me against Chris.

"I'm not expecting any favours -- I know I'll have to work hard to get into the first team. However, I'm confident in my own ability and am looking forward to being involved sooner rather than later."

Jarman, who has played for the All Black's u17 and u19 sides, has turned down moves to England in the last few years because of contractual commitments to New Zealand but admitted the Worcester deal was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"People have told me about the set- up here at Sixways and I must admit, I am not disappointed."

The scrum-half, despite never playing a full international, also sees the move as a possible boost to his All Black aspirations.

He said: "You always want to reach the top in any sport and I've still got five or six good years in me yet so I if the opportunity came around I would love to play for the All Blacks."
