WHEN Worcester Rugby Club coach Adrian Skeggs ordered his side to clean up their act the players thought they were in for a hard time in training.

However, he had something else in mind as the squad, due to play Saracens in the Tetley Bitter Cup on Sunday, decked themselves out in overalls and rubber gloves for a spot of manual labour at Sixways.

The National Division One leaders washed, scrubbed, brushed and painted their club in preparation for the weekend's crunch fifth round clash at Vicarage Road.

Skeggs said: "It is a great way of keeping the players' feet on the ground and lending a hand to the overall running of Worcester Rugby Club.

"I think the experience pulled the players together and encouraged a bit of team bonding. We cannot expect to outplay Saracens so we need something extra. Hopefully the extra bit of togetherness will make the difference."
