A WOULD-be robber escaped empty-handed after bank staff in a Worcestershire town refused to hand over any cash.
A member of staff at the Bewdley branch of Barclays Bank, Load Street, was given a note by a man yesterday morning at around 11.05am.
The hand-written note demanded that money be handed over and indicated that he had a gun.
But no money was handed over and the man left the building.
No one was injured in the incident.
Kidderminster police have described the man as white, in his early to mid-20s, slim build and 5ft 8in tall.
He had cropped hair, which was dark on the sides and fair on top. He had stubble on his face and a swarthy complexion. He was wearing a green round neck T-shirt.
Police have arrested a man in connection with the incident and he is currently being questioned.
They are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or anyone who may have seen the man either before or after the offence.
Anyone with any information should call 01562 820888.
