PLANS to conserve the countryside will be discussed by an enviornmental group in a Bewdley park today.
Members of BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers) and the public will be at Blackstone Meadows Riverside Park, which is the first Worcestershire County Council owned site in the north of the county to have conservation work carried out on it since the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak.
Worcestershire project officer Alex Morley said: "The contribution volunteers make to the enhancement of countryside sites is invaluable, and there is certainly a need for their involvement.
"The task for the day will involve undertaking pieces of woodland management. All the trees have tree guards on for rabbit protection, and now they need to be removed and the trees inspected for health and good form.
"This is a chance for the trees to be identified and inspected and the success of the planting assessed."
