STOKE Prior Bowling Club have been in top form over the past week.

First, Prior's senior side went to the top of the Warwickshire and Worcestershire League on shots difference after beating nearest rivals Small Heath Amateur Gardeners by 35 shots at Westonhall Road.

Then in the Yardley Wood and District League, Stoke had a full house of eight winners as they overpowered luckless King George Sixth by 68 shots.

The Big Crown team moved into the next round of the Consolation Cup with a comfortable 60 shot victory over King George V B team at Tally Ho. Kelvin Wilson's 21-4 started the destruction. Stoke now meet Selly Park on Thursday July 26 at WCWMC.

Next, it was the turn of the Heart of England side to star, as they shocked Hockley Heath with an important away victory against the odds.

In the Yardley Wood and District Singles Merit, Colin Mortiboys qualified for the finals on Sunday August 5.

To cap a superb week for the club, Mortiboys' website, the Big Crown Bowling League, has won a British Telecom Community Connections award.

The award will be used to produce the website 'Communigate', which provides information on the sport to individuals and other organisations.
