ON May 22 at the Greig Hall, Margaret Dolby gave an interesting and inspiring colourful talk about designing and creating her handcrafted rugs and wall hangings.
Margaret began by stating members need never buy a rug or carpet again - with time and inclination.
She explained various methods of making loops, tufts, fringes, plaits and showed examples of beautiful rugs.
Margaret also illustrated how the same techniques could be used to create ''paintings'' - close to the work of an impressionist artist. The use of different silks, yarns, fabrics, textures and Margaret's subtle use of colour inspired all present.
The raffle winner was Brenda Palmer.
