IT was the same old story for Redditch superbiker Andy Tinsley at Thruxton at the weekend.

Tinsley's impressive showing last time out after a miserable start to the season seems to have been a false dawn after settings problems again disrupted his performance on Sunday.

Tinsley qualified a disappointing 23rd and despite climbing to 14th had lost touch with the leading pack.

"Yet again we cocked up in qualifying and made some wrong decisions and I wrecked the tyre I was using in qualifying," said Tinsley.

"In the last round we changed tyres at the last minute and it all fell into place.

"But this time we put some settings into the suspension and didn't get what we thought we would after miscounting on some of the adjusters.

"When the suspension is wrong the tyre becomes excessively worn and you lose your grip.

"With less grip my time was affected because I was almost crashing all the time.

"I was frustrated, it was pretty annoying really."

But Tinsley is hoping to get it right at Oulton Park on Sunday, July 22.

"Hopefully we can get the settings right because Thruxton is a bogey track of mine."
