PEOPLE living in Worcester's Cherwell Close are busy preparing for next month's summer fete after refurbishing their club.
The Mayor of Worcester, Coun David Clark, declared the Tolladine premises formally open and met the oldest club member, Emmy King, pictured left, enjoying a celebratory drink with friend Evelyn Cook.
Decorator Micky Cartell donated paints and people on community service orders carried out the gardening work. The club's garden features a small bridge and plaque in memory of former member Edith Bastock.
