PRS Summer League

THE second half of the Division One season started with wins for joint leaders Inkberrow A and Stratford B.

Inkberrow's seemingly convincing 4-0 win against Littleton A, however, hides a strong performance by the Littleton pairing of David Hubbard and Frank Meadows.

They put up determined resistance, playing three tie break sets in all, eventually losing both their matches, 7-6, 7-6 and 5-7,6-3,7-6.

Stratford B entertained Tanworth A and won 3-1, and it could have been 4-0 also, but for a fightback from Tanworth's Harry Littlechild and Phil Wells.

They came back from a set down against Tim Page and George Goodman, taking the final two sets 6-4, 6-4.

Finally, at Studley, the points were shared in an even match against Alcester which ended as a 2-2 draw.

Inkberrow A now have a one point lead at the top over Stratford B, with Alcester a further three points back in third place.
