SPEAKING as the county councillor for St Martin's ward covering the Warndon area, I am delighted with the excellent news that The Elgar High School has been awarded Technology College status.
In recent times, this school has taken a lot of knocks by some people in the area. Many of them have not taken the time to visit the school and see for themselves the hard work and achievements made over recent years.
This decision can be seen as support for the excellent Head of the Elgar High who has steered the school, along with his dedicated staff, by improving standards, discipline and teacher moral, resulting in this excellent new opportunity for our children.
I wish the head, teachers and governors my congratulations.
