CHILDREN from the Holy Redeemer R C First School in Pershore have a display of their art work on show at the Number 8 gallery in the town's High Street.

"We were asked if we would put on the exhibition and we provided a selection of work from every class in the school from children whose ages range from four to 11," explained head teacher Hilary Rowlands.

The exhibition continues until near the end of July and includes paintings, collages and masks.

Mrs Rowlands added: "It is the first time we have been asked to do this. The children are very excited and keen to take their parents along to have a look at their work."

She said she hoped it would be the start of a liaison with Number 8 and there were already plans for all first schools in Pershore to get together in the autumn term to work with a sculptress to provide a collective sculpture.
