PLANS to build a medical centre and a veterinary surgery in Droitwich have been deemed premature by a Spa official.

On Monday night, members of Droitwich Spa Town Council's planning committee were asked to consider two outline planning applications submitted by developer Derngate Holdings Ltd.

The company wants to build a medical centre, veterinary surgery and residential development on green belt land off Bromsgrove Road.

Cllr Don Lawley (Con, Droit.South) said it was premature to discuss the designs because the local plan consultation is in progress.

He added that no application which deviates from the green belt policy, as laid down in the newly endorsed structure plan, should be considered.
