TEST spin-king Phil Tufnell and England one-day international batsman Owais Shah are set to play for Middlesex in their Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy clash with Herefordshire at Luctonians tomorrow (10.45am).

The duo have been included in the Lord's side's 13-man squad, which also features ex-Malvern College pupil, David Nash.

Sir Len Hutton's grandson, Ben, and New Zealander Stephen Fleming are also named in the Middlesex 13.

Newly-appointed Herefordshire skipper, Chris Boroughs, is relishing the chance of playing against Middlesex.

"We missed out last year when we got knocked out in the first round of the Nat West but I have played a couple of games against first-class sides before and it is always a chance to test yourself against them," he said.

"Middlesex especially have got a few Test players and everybody is looking forward to the match."

Herefordshire go into the tie on the back of mixed form -- good in the Minor Counties Champion-ship where they are unbeaten but poor in the ECB 38 County Cup where they have lost three times.

Boroughs said: "We have struggled to get the same side out each week and we have had a few injuries notably Harshad Patel and Rob Hughes with broken fingers.

"Availability plays a big part and is one of the reasons why we have not done as well as we would like."

Luctonians' ground at Kingsland is traditionally a batting wicket with Herefordshire making over 300 in a one-day game against Wales last year, though they were bowled out for 154 in the ECB 38 County Cup defeat against Shropshire on Sunday.

"We played on a track two or three away from Wednesday's wicket and were bowled out for 154 though that was more to do with indifferent batting than the wicket," said Boroughs.

Herefordshire have a full side to pick from, although New Zealand all-rounder Andre Adams hurt his back at the weekend and cannot bowl.

"He is still dangerous with the bat but we just won't have his bowling as an extra option which is disappointing," added Boroughs.
