I SEE that Stephen Dorrell, along with his fellow europhiles, are trying to change Tory policies to get rid of the pound and sink deeper into a federal europe.

There are some people, probably with an eye on a euro commissioners' job, who gave the opposition the chance to call the Tories a split party.

I suppose that if Stephen Dorrell became Prime Minister, he would expect all MPs to toe the party line and accept its official policies. No wonder the Tories lost.

Historically, within a person's expected life span, every federal state of hitherto independent countries have had to shed blood to rid themselves of dictatorship.

This means our children or grandchildren will almost certainly have to fight to rid themselves of something we've caused.

Remember the German Chancellor's words about Britain's chance of withdrawing later. He said: "No, we will not allow them to withdraw."

Mark these words very carefully. "We will not allow." Doesn't that strike fear into your heart?
