WORCESTER Rugby Club's ladies are taking the Southern Hemisphere by storm as they continue their England tour Down Under.

Nicky Crawford and Jo Yapp have played two successful Tests against the Australians and later today they, and new national try scorer Nicola Goodwin, will attempt to draw a series with world champions New Zealand.

The Sixways trio have been in fine form on the tour with Crawford and Yapp taking most of the plaudits but it was the emergence of hooker Goodwin during this week's 27-7 win over Waikato Province that put her firmly in the spotlight and pushed her closer to a full England call-up.

She will again be on the bench for today's second Test clash with New Zealand at North Habour Stadium as England look to draw the series following a 15-10 loss in Rotorua at the weekend.

However, her confidence is sky-high going into the match on the back of her midweek try.

Goodwin said: "It was a dream to score for England as it was my first try in an England shirt and my first game for my country was back in 1996 for England Students so I've been trying for a long time!

"It was a simple move, I threw the ball to four in the line out and then we caught and drove over the line.

"It is always nice to score as a front row player; but even better to score for your country.

"The tour has been a fantastic experience for all the players.

She added: "We were bitterly disappointed to lose out 15-10 in the first test in Rotorua and we now just need to play with confidence and take our chances.

" It will be the biggest game England have played since the World Cup and we just need to prove how well we can play.

"Worcester scrum half Yapp is a key player in attack and once we stretch the Black Ferns defence we know that the back three of captain Paula George, wing Emily Feltham and Worcester wing Nicola Crawford can finish better than any other players in the world."
